1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice–the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. [Rom 12:1-2 NLT]
Godly Stewardship is the active combination of Public and private worship. Publicly we as a family come together “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” (Heb 10:25) to hear the word of God, participate in praise and worship and corporate prayer. We fellowship one with the other provoking each other to love though the servicing of the body with our spiritual gifts, while encouraging each other to continue conquering life and not give up.
But we don’t stop there; no, no……we then leave to worship and we “present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service by being wise stewards of our Troubles, Time, Talent, Treasure, Team and Temple to the glory of God…..
We are not naive to believe that since we now have a relationship with God the Father and creator through His son Jesus Christ that we won’t experience trouble in this life. As a matter of fact we’ve learned in His word that, Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. (Job 14:1 KJV) We therefore expect that at given moment we can be faced with a trial, tribulation or temptation which spells trouble; sometimes to a large degree and other times smaller. However Jesus comforts us by His invitation for we belivers to, 28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (Mat 11:28-30 NLT) We take comfort in knowing that he shall not only instruct us but comfort us through our tough times.
At the temple we realize and understand that time is a valuable asset and a gift to us from our Heavenly Father to be utilized unto His glory and our benefit, therefore we take heed to the wisdom of Solomon and are learning to take advantage the seasons of time as they present themselves.(Eccl 3:1-11,17) Therefore we set aside time for coorporate worship but more than that we’ve learned that when our Heavenly Father sees us in private He rewards us publicly, therefore we practice personal prayer, reading and meditation of His word. (Matt 6:6) We are sure to help one another maintain a healthy balance of our time as we share it with out families, occupations, church activities, hobbies, liesure and also set aside time to minister to our community through various outreach endeavors because we are His body. (Matt 25:36)
We offer our Conquering Life Class 301 to help every believer to find their space and assignment in life and ministry according to your SHAPE: Skills, Heart, Attitude, Personality and Experiences. We believe that a person should seek what they are passionate about doing in life and ministry that they might naturally give glory to God by serving the body of Christ in our local assembly helping to keep it healthy and having a positive affect on the world through the offeringr skill sets and talents. We are able to negotiate our talents and gifts in exchange for monotary compensation, Jesus reminds us in the parable of the talents 21 “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’ (Mat 25:21 NLT) Solomon also provides a word of wisdom on this subject matter, 10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. (Ecc 9:10 KJV)
We are of the understanding that we are to support the vision of the local church financially through the presenting of our tithes and offerings. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! (Mal 3:10 NLT) God’s church has been established to be an example to the world in word and deed for we are blessed to be a blessing until all the world is blessed. 18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. (Deu 8:18 KJV) Though we may minister to the world in many ways like other organizations, we are distinct in that we do for spiritual purposes; we are the body of Christ. When you give to our ministry your gifts of offerings support the work of the ministry of this church, local missions, foriegn missions and benevolence to the body of Christ. Finally we believe that when we give the Lord rewards us inreturn, 6 Remember this–a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. (2Cr 9:6-8 NLT).
